Our last night in Korea. It has been a fantastic journey. We will sorely miss the great leaders and Soldiers we had the privilege of serving with. The Korean people have been equally kind and magnanimous. GEN MacArthur was correct when he said ... "the magnificence of the courage and fortitude of the Korean People defies description..." Sau khi được phu nhân và cô con gái, cả hai trong quốc phục Áo Dài và hai con trai gắn 2 sao mới vào quân phục, sau khi tuyên thệ Ông đã ngõ lời cùng quan khách, thượng cấp và chiến hữu.. Khi nhắc đến gia đình, thân phụ đã quá cố là Thiếu Tá Thủy Quân Lục Chiến / QLVNCH Lương Xuân Đương, và sự quan tâm của những người chị, em gái trong gia đình dành cho ông và ông đã khóc. Ông cũng không quên nhắc đến, ca ngợi và vinh danh sự hy sinh của những Chiến Sĩ Quân Lực Việt Nam Cộng Hòa, kể cả những Chiến Sĩ Đồng Minh của Quân Lực Hoa Kỳ và Đại Hàn Dân Quốc để bảo vệ tự do cho Miền Nam  Việt Nam.......

 Congratulations to newly promoted Maj. Gen. Viet X. Luong, the Eighth Army deputy commanding general operations! He was promoted during a ceremony at Eighth Army headquarters today. His family, friends, fellow service members and members of the community joined us in celebrating his well deserved promotion.

Thiếu Tướng Lương Xuân Việt sinh ra tại miền Nam Việt Nam và sang định cư tại Hoa Kỳ khi Sài Gòn sụp đổ 1975.
Là con trai duy nhất trong gia đình 8 chị em gái, ba ông là một cựu sĩ quan TQLC VNCH Thiếu tá Lương Xuân Đương.
Bản thân Th/Tướng Lương Xuân Việt tự nhận mình là người Mỹ gốc Việt bằng sự chọn lựa của chính mình và là một quân nhân Hoa Kỳ nhưng luôn hãnh diện là “quân nhân (hậu duệ) VNCH thế hệ hai .
Trong bài phát biểu tại lễ thăng cấp hôm nay ông đã làm cho cả khán phòng xúc động khi nhắc đến người cha quá cố của mình và lòng biết ơn đối với những chiến sĩ quân lực VNCH. Qua hình ảnh hào hùng và sự hy sinh, gian khổ để bảo vệ miền Nam Việt Nam đã cho ông thấy được giá trị của sự tự do
Ông nói “ Sông núi nước Nam vua Nam ở
Rành rành định phận tại sách trời
Tôi xin đứng nghiêm chào (salute) các vị về sự hy sinh cao cả mà quý vị đã trải qua “
Ông cũng không quên nhắc đến công ơn gia đình và diễn tả người vợ bằng hai câu chinh phụ ngâm
“ Thuở trời đất nổi cơn gió bụi
Khách má hồng nhiều nổi truân chuyên “
Thiếu tướng Lương Xuân Việt trong bất kỳ một bài phát biểu nào cũng đều nghĩ về danh dự của những chiến sĩ VNCH. Trước đó trong một cuộc phỏng vấn ông nói
“ Tôi nghĩ tôi rất may mắn vì tôi đang sống ở một nước tự do và tôi là sĩ quan của một cường quốc, tôi cũng rất may mang trong người dòng máu dân tộc của bốn ngàn năm văn hiến. Trong máu tôi có dòng máu của Quang Trung, Lê Lợi, Trần Hưng Đạo và Ngô Quyền“

Thiếu tướng Lương Xuân Việt hiện là sĩ quan gốc Việt cao cấp nhất trong quân đội Hoa Kỳ và cũng là người Mỹ gốc Việt đầu tiên mang cấp tướng.

NAM HÀN – Tướng Lương Xuân Việt vừa chính thức được gắn lon Thiếu Tướng (2 sao) của quân đội Mỹ trong buổi lễ được tổ chức tại tổng hành dinh của Quân Đoàn 8 (Eight Army), Camp Humphreys, Nam Hàn, hôm 21 Tháng Sáu 2018.
Tướng Lương Xuân Việt được Thượng Viện Hoa Kỳ chấp thuận thăng cấp thiếu tướng, qua một cuộc bỏ phiếu tại phiên họp khoáng đại hôm Thứ Năm, 25 Tháng Năm, 2017, nhưng nay mới chính thức được gắn 2 sao.

Buổi lễ kéo dài khoảng 40 phút và được tường thuật trực tiếp trên trang facebook Eight Army – Korea, có sự tham dự của Trung tướng Michael A. Bills, gia đình, vợ con, bạn bè, cùng các đồng đội của tướng Việt và các thành viên trong cộng đồng.

Thiếu Tướng Lương Xuân Việt hiện là phó tư lệnh hành quân Quân Đoàn 8 ở Nam Hàn.
Ông Việt được vinh thăng chuẩn tướng ngày 6 Tháng Tám năm 2014, hiện là sĩ quan gốc Việt cao cấp nhất trong quân đội Hoa Kỳ.
Trước khi sang Nam Hàn hôm 1 Tháng Năm năm 2017, Tướng Việt là tham mưu trưởng Bộ Tư Lệnh Lục Quân Trung Ương Hoa Kỳ đóng tại căn cứ Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.

Ông là con trai cố Thiếu Tá Thủy Quân Lục Chiến VNCH Lương Xuân Đương, cùng gia đình đến Hoa Kỳ năm 1975, lúc 10 tuổi, và định cư tại Mountain View, California.
Sau khi tốt nghiệp cử nhân sinh học và cao học khoa học quân sự tại đại học USC, ông tình nguyện vào quân đội, mang cấp bậc thiếu úy Bộ Binh năm 1987, và được chọn vào danh sách sĩ quan hiện dịch, đóng tại tiểu bang Colorado.

Sau đó, ông lần lượt giữ các chức vụ trung đội trưởng rồi đại đội phó.
Vài năm sau, ông lên trung tá, tiểu đoàn trưởng Tiểu Đoàn 2, Trung Đoàn 505, Lữ Đoàn 3, Sư Đoàn 82 Nhảy Dù.
Rồi ông lên đại tá, làm lữ đoàn trưởng Lữ Đoàn 3, Sư Đoàn 101 Nhảy Dù.
Khi được thăng chuẩn tướng, ông là tư lệnh phó Sư Đoàn 1 Thiết Kỵ.
Sau đó, ông làm tư lệnh Bộ Tư Lệnh Huấn Luyện và Trợ Giúp Miền Nam (TAAC South) tại Afghanistan, rồi làm chỉ huy Phòng 8, Phòng Tham Mưu Phó, Bộ Tham Mưu Lục Quân. (T.L)

Thiếu Tướng Lương Xuân Việt - Thế Hệ thứ hai của VNCH

Thiếu Tướng Lương Xuân Việt

Thưa Quý Vị, Quý Niên trưởng và Chiến hữu,

Tướng Lương Xuân Việt đã có quyết định thăng cấp Thiếu tướng từ tháng 6/2017, trước khi được bổ nhiệm phục vụ tại Đại Hàn, vào ngày 21/06/2018 tới đây sẽ được chính thức gắn hai sao.

Được biết, theo sự giải thích từ một thân nhân của Tướng Lương Xuân Việt: Thường lệ Bộ Quốc Phòng xem xét trong năm 2017-2018  có bao nhiêu Thiếu Tướng đến tuổi về hưu, và họ sẽ cho số Chuẩn Tướng được thăng Thiếu Tướng lần lượt được thay thế vào những chổ trống đó. Các vị Thiếu Tướng này có ngày về hưu khác nhau, nên các vị tân Thiếu Tướng phải chờ đợi theo thứ tự, cho đến khi tới phiên mình, như trong trường hợp này, Tướng Lương Xuân Việt đã chờ cả năm, mới được gắn hai sao.

 

Tướng Lương Xuân Việt, là vị tướng đầu tiên, và hiện nay Ông là quân nhân Mỹ gốc Việt Nam Cộng Hòa, cấp bậc cao nhất trong Lục Quân (nói riêng) và Quân Lực Hoa Kỳ (nói chung).

Tướng Lương Xuân Việt đương nhiệm chức vụ Tư Lệnh Phó đặc trách Tổng quát và Điều hành của Đệ Bát Quân Đoàn / Lộ quân (U.S Eighth Army), trấn đóng tại căn cứ Camp Humphreys, gần Anjeong-Riand Pyeongtaek, Đại hàn Dân Quốc. Được biết Camp Humphreys, là căn cứ lớn nhất của Quân lực Hoa Kỳ tại hải ngoại.
